June and Fieldday came and went, 4th of July passed.Solar Activity the other day got a lot of Hams excited.We made some fantastic contacts when it hit.Reminded me of being at the Coast and watching the Surfers holding onto their boards, then suddenly someone yells, "Surfs Up!" Now, quite a few are scrambling to Weatherize, Winterize, and get ready for more and greater Solar Activity as we reach the Peak of the Eleven-Year Cycle.
Kathy KI6UIN and I have made a considerable amount of Upgrades, and improvements inside and outside of the Hamshack.And I know several others preparing for the atmospheric Surf and the Amateur Operator's Dream of Contacts galore!
Speaking of upgrades.BARA has downsized some of its Inventory and Re-tuned our goals and direction.Thanks to John, KE6BEZ and Kathy, KI6UIN for getting the Club Trailer cleaned out.And Kudo's for Earlene KD6EAC, dealing with the paperwork and Sales Transactions.And Jerry N6BAR for his advice and help in getting everything Priced.
And a big thank you to those in our group that have purchased equipment and for their ideas and support.Things are moving along great as we all have been working shoulder-to-shoulder to accomplish these changes.
The Website has never looked better! A big Thank You to our WebMaster.If I've missed anyone I'm sorry, it wasn't intentional.
We are really looking forward to our upcoming Meeting and Lunch Saturday, August 14th under the Westside L.H. President George KC6KGH called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm.There were seven members present.
George, KC6KGH, led the Pledge to the Flag.
Earlene KD6EAC gave the T reasurers Report.It was accepted as read and there were no additions or corrections.A check of $4.95 was paid to Kathy for Maintaining the Website Monthly.There was No Secretary's Report as June's Meeting was a Dinner Only.
Secretary's Minutes of the last Meeting were read by Kathy KI6UIN.Minutes were accepted as read, with no additions or corrections.
OLD BUSINESS:None
NEW BUSINESS:There was quite a lot of discussion about downsizing BARA's assets, etc. As the current numbers in our Membership has dwindled.....We all were deciding what directions to take.Hazel, KE6NFV entertained the idea of a motion to sell the club trailer and its contents, however John KE6BEZ made the motion to sell all BARA Inc. Property. Tex, KD6UQW 2nd the motion. Motion carried.
John KE6BEZ said that he would go the Trailer Site and Help list everything with Kathy KI6UIN.And remove the contents thereof.Earlene KD6EAC mentioned that she had a buyer for the trailer and would talk to him.
It was also decided during discussion that the Website would continue as is.
Tex KD6UQW, made a motion to have a BBQ next month, Joe 2nd it. All agreed. KC6KGH said that he would call everyone telling them of the time, day and Location.
John KE6BEZ made the motion to cancel our meeting place at the Veterans Hall.Tex KD6UQW 2nd the motion.Motion carried.George KC6KGH said that he would contact the Parks and Recreation Department and let them know.
Tex KD6UQW made the motion to adjourn the meeting.
Kathy KI6UIN 2nd it. Meeting ended at 8:15 pm.
